Brief Update!

Josh and I have been busy finishing up our semesters at school and forget to update the blog! I am better then he is (haha)! Anyway, we haven't done much for the wedding this month, there really isn't much to do at the moment. Definitely a lot of online browsing--flowers, cakes, invitations... just food for thought! We get very excited looking at our registry and trying to guess who got us what! We are pretty excited for our engagement party and to see everyone and see all of our gifts!

We also finalized our bridal parties... although I have one person left to ask, but she knows she will be part of it which is why I am posting it now.

Suzanne's Bridal Party:
Maid of Honor: Tara Kelly
Bridesmaids: Erica Norman, Jaime Landes, Jennifer Brown, Cheryl Abramowitz, Jarina D'Auria, Lauren Schuster, and Samantha Prouse

Josh's Groomsmen:
Best Man: Jonathan Landes
Groomsmen: Joshua Ring, Joshua Feinstein, Justin Huff, Scott Barash, Scott Schneider, Matt Jordan, and Lee Grynberg

:) Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We did! We are looking forward to the holiday season, our engagement party, the new year, and some future surprise plans!

Planning is going reall well! As mentioned before I have my dresses narrowed down. I am leaning more towards one, but I will be getting a few opinions at the end of December and hopefully will make a decision after then.

Many have wondered who will be in my bridal party and who will be in Josh's grooms party. We are currently in the process of asking those people into the party. We will post it up once everyone is informed! Lets just say we are hoping everyone will be asked before Thanksgiving!!!

We are looking forward to our family/family friend engagement party. Unfortunately we are limitted people due to space. I wish I could invite everyone!

Also, we have received some fantastic gifts so far and we are really excited about them.
Once again, so it is easier to find... you can visit our registry by clicking the following link: SUZANNE AND JOSHUA's BED BATH AND BEYOND REGISTRY!!!

All the best,

Dress Part 2

Ok, so scratch that idea of thinking the Macy's dress is the one. I found 2 fabulous, amazing, and PERFECT dresses at Bridal Reflections. Now that hard part is choosing which will be the one. The reason both can be the ONE is because they both are COMPLETELY different!!!! Ah decisions! At least I have plenty of time!

Dresses!

I have started my wedding gown search! Yes I know it is very early but my mom will be consumed by her everyday job and her seasonal job (taxes) very very very soon. Therefore, I have started the search.

I found an AMAZING dress at Macy's which will not be back there until January since it was a trunk show and a new 2010 dress! I would make a few changes just to make it perfect for me if this is the dress! I am so happy I found it! (it could very well be the one)!

However, I want to experience the "dress" fun. Tonight I will be going to Bridal Reflections in Massapequa! Hopefully I will find a lot!

Update!!!

Sorry that we have not updated our blog in a while. Josh and I have both been busy with our jobs at schools!

We registered at Macy's but it was VERY disappointing. We only have 4 items on the reigistry there but 2 of the items I transferred to the Bed Bath and Beyond Registry. If you would like to search our registry you can visit it at macys.weddingchannel.com

We would prefer if you pick something out from our Bed Bath and Beyond Registry!

Also, many people have called us and asked "what can we get you as an engagement gift?"
If you would like to purchase us a gift we would prefer if you: 1. get us something off our registry, 2. give money (we will be using any engagement money towards our honeymoon), 3. gift card to bed bath and beyond.

I hope this helps out and answers any questions!

I will be checking out wedding gowns tonight!!! (I know it is early but with my mother in the heart of tax season March/April/May, we won't have the time to search)!

"When the music changes, so does the dance!"

Another night, another band. In fact a PHENOMENAL BAND! I hope Joshua loves them as much as I did. Unfortunately due to our insane schedules (Josh's being more insane) it is going to be hard coordinating for us both to see bands. However we do not plan on looking at a ton. My grandmother always told me that when you love something you book it. No we did not book the band but they are definitely a contender. My point is that we will not be going to look at 10-15 bands. It is just so hard because you will always find bands that you will love more and dislike more. I watched the DVD that I will be showing Joshua and it DOES NOT do the band justice. Hummm... we will see! Anyway the band is by Franklin Wayne- VISION. Anyone ever hear of them? We were actually recommended to go see them by a family at the showcase last night!

Well thanks for tuning in!

Music....makes the people... come together!!!

Tonight I went to listen to the band BODY HEAT. First band experience (for the wedding) and it was a great experience overall! I have nothing to compare them to so we will have to wait and see! Anyone with band suggestions please send them my way at suzanne.hayley.feinstein@gmail.com or you can just blog it here.

I have also had concerns about our registery and not seeing where the link is on this blog. Here is the LINK and you can visit bedbathandbeyond.com and under bridal registry you can type in Suzanne Feinstein or Joshua Gluck!

PS. Yesterday was 1 1/2 years until our wedding!!

Welcome, The "W's," and the story

Welcome to our Engagement/ Wedding Blog! We are very excited to share this wonderful news with everyone. This site will be to update everyone about our wedding progress and we hope you will continue to check in from time to time.

Now.........

We are sure many of you want to know the W's, or rather the who, what, when, where, why, how, summary (okay this isn't a current events article). But here is the information many of you are dying to know!

We got engaged Friday, August 28, 2009 @ 6:55pm at The Seasons @ Plainview in the parking lot of Suz's condo.

So...here's the story from Suzanne:

Well… it was nothing glamorous, but it was perfect. To be honest, I really don’t go out to the city a lot unless I am seeing a Broadway show or have something planned, so for Josh to take me out some place fancy or plan a fancy day or something out of the ordinary I would have suspected it. I knew it was coming this year but I was dead set on October – November. We looked around for what I would like back in February, but my mom’s best friend’s husband is a diamond jeweler and we knew whatever I saw he would make. It turns out what I thought I liked, I didn’t want, and something at Zales caught my eye. Josh saved the picture from online and took it to him as a model to go by. However one of his days off from work (he lifeguards over the summer) he went with my mom to her friend’s house to pick out the stone. After that my mom wanted nothing to do with it. She wanted to be surprised when he would propose and what the outcome of the ring would be.

This Friday during the nasty weather we basically had a lazy day watching True Blood. Normally I go to the gym but I have been having trouble with my knee so I have been taking it easy (which doesn’t help my 2 year wedding diet haha) and he couldn’t me out of the house to get the ring. He slipped into my mom’s room while I was in the bathroom and asked her to pick it up and she did, but she did not look at it. In the meantime it was about 6 and we were getting ready to go to my friend’s indoor bbq (rain) and Josh looked at the ring and thought it was better with the adjustments (from the picture), wanted my mom to see it and she freaked out because it wasn’t exactly like the picture and she knows how particular I am (although she thought it was a lot prettier). My mom asked him where to hide it since he wasn’t planning on proposing for another 2 weeks or so, and he said “I have an idea.” At that point my mom was like “OH MY GOSH!!!” Josh’s mom called him (I was still getting ready at the time) and he was trying to get her off the phone which is always hard to do (sorry Carol!!!) Josh’s mom knew 15 min before and my mom knew 30 min before it was going to happen. After I got dressed Josh goes “you are wearing that? You told me last month that from now until we are engaged when we go out your hair should look good, nails done, clothes look good, and that you have a camera on you.” Well it was nasty out so my hair was up and gross, I threw on jeans with a regular shirt—nothing special. I said “Josh, you don’t have a ring yet, you didn’t even go to Gabe yet, and you won’t propose in front of friends.” He said “ok fine, I am just telling you what you told me to tell you.” I thought nothing of it because he was right, I told him to remind me of all that. I decided to take my chances. Anyway, we are ready to go I have a bottle of wine in my hand for the BBQ, and we are walking to his car (which is extremely old). Josh was ahead of me and I hear him yell “OH SHIT” and is down to the ground. From my angle (there was another car blocking his in my community parking lot) I thought he had a flat tire. I walked faster to the car only to see he was down on his knee asking me “WILL YOU MARRY ME?” I said “SHUT UP.” He said “That doesn’t answer my question. WILL YOU MARRY ME?” And of course I said “YES…SHUT UP!!!” and the tears came down! He proceeded to say… “even though you look beautiful all the time, I told you to dress nice!!!!” It was absolutely perfect!!!

Well folks that's the story. Thank you so much for all of your well wishes and its just a shame we can't thank everyone properly all the time, but we are VERY grateful for them. Finally, we hope that this answers the big questions and that you will keep checking back often.
